Migration & copy

Store migration checklist: 12 checks before and after moving products

A product move is not finished when the progress bar fills up. It is finished when customers can see and buy the products in the new store. Use this checklist to confirm the scope and what is supported, and plan time to review products after copying.

Why use a checklist

Moving names and prices is not enough. Categories, options, images and selling settings shape how customers find and choose products. Each platform handles product data differently, so check the real pages in the target store, not just the source.

Start by setting the direction and a test scope. Widen the scope after checking the items below, and keep a separate list of products you will handle by hand so nothing is left unfinished.

The 12-point store migration checklist

  • Copy direction

Check the source and target store combination in COZi first. Support varies by combination across Cafe24, Imweb, Smartstore, Coupang, Toss Shopping and Godomall. The connection screen and preview show the directions and fields you can use.

  • Store connection and permissions

Prepare what each platform asks for. Depending on the platform, that is consent, keys issued in its seller center or an IP address registration. Check both store names and their connection status.

  • Fresh product list

Import the products you will move. If you changed prices, options or images since the last import, import again before preparing the copy.

  • Scope of the move

Choose the categories or products to move this time. Leave out discontinued products, and mark test copies so they are not copied again in the main job.

  • Category placement

Check which category each product will go into in the target store. With an Imweb target store, products without a category of the same name need a fallback category, so creating the categories you need in advance saves a step.

  • Options and variants

Test the option structures you really sell. Check a product with sizes only alongside one with color and size combinations. Review option prices and availability in the target store, and handle unsupported structures separately.

  • Images and descriptions

Open the main and additional images and the description on the target store's product page. Look for missing content, changed layout and links that point back to the source store.

  • Prices and selling settings

Compare the price, option extra prices, stock and availability. Decide the display and selling mode before starting, and check the result in the target store before going public.

  • Product numbers and duplicates

The target store creates products with new product numbers. Record which new product matches which source product, and check your own product codes if you use them. A new copy does not update existing products.

  • Skipped and failed products

Read the per-product reasons in the preview and the results. Sort the products into those that need a settings change, those to retry and those to list by hand.

  • Task readiness

Check the connected account permissions and the target store’s listing requirements. Test with a few products first and allow time for manual fixes and final review.

  • Launch readiness

Check shipping, returns, taxes, payment methods, store design and customer-facing links separately. Copying products does not finish a store move. Decide who does the final review and when products go public.

What you can do in COZi

COZi brings products, orders and inventory from several stores into one management console. When you need to migrate products, you can import the source listings, prepare a copy and review each product’s result. Supported fields and required settings depend on the store combination.

What you decide yourself

  • Exceptions. Decide how to list products that cannot be copied in the chosen direction.
  • Categories. Create or tidy the categories the target store needs. Check an Imweb target store first.
  • Launch timing. Review copied products before displaying or selling them.
  • Product pages. Check prices, options, descriptions and images on the real target store pages.
  • Uncertain results. For products whose creation was not confirmed, check the target store before deciding whether to retry.
  1. Check the supported direction, connect both stores and review the target store settings.
  2. Import fresh products and set the scope of the move.
  3. Copy a few representative products and compare them in the target store.
  4. Fix settings and list the products you will handle by hand.
  5. Copy the rest with the method available for that combination, then check the results and which products can be retried.
  6. Review store settings and customer-facing pages, and decide when products go public.

Move a few representative products in COZi first. Check the list against the results, then schedule the rest of the move.

Frequently asked questions

What should I check first in a product move?

Check that COZi supports the direction from your source store to your target store, then test-copy a few representative products. After that, check categories, options, images and selling settings on the real target store pages.

Does copying products also move orders and customer data?

No. Product copy moves product data only. Plan past orders, customer data and payment contracts separately. After the move, new orders from each store can be collected and handled in the COZi console.

Can I move many products at once?

If bulk copy is available for that store combination, you can copy many products as one job. Check the preparation summary, limits and required settings, and test a small scope first. Leave time to review failed and skipped products.

Will everything look the same in the new store?

Not always, because each platform handles product data differently. Supported fields and limits depend on the direction. Check the preview, and compare the target store products yourself before selling.
